Everything around us is made out of some type of material. There are many different types – metal, wood and plastic – and many varieties of each. In Greatest Inventions with Bill Nye and the Science of Materials, we learn about the history and technology of the most common materials around us. Many are the materials used to build our homes, buildings, cars, toys and furniture. Without them, our lives would be significantly different. From easily biodegradable plastics made from corn to the carbon fiber used in creating ultra-light automobiles, we will examine the nanotechnology used to manufacture cleaner and more efficient products.
